I cannot imagine a man being blessed with better friends than I have
I cannot imagine a man being blessed with better friends than I have. Throughout my life I have had the greatest friendships. From my very early years I still have extremely close friendships with Pat Ford, John Trotter, Erick Lundy, and Steve Shinsky. The five of us have been the “STUFF Club” since high school. No explanation offered for the name. Most of my college friends know me as Chow or Chow Dog. Plenty of pictures from our more tame exploits are shown here. I have another great round of friends from my days at Aetna (1983 – 1988) and certainly some of the greatest friends from my life in Austin, Texas (since 1991).

As I reflect on my friendships, it is difficult to separate the friends from fun. That said; I learned a tremendous lesson about the value of deep friendships as we suffered with Alden during her leukemia. I can’t number the gestures of kindness, the intensity of the prayers offered, or quantify the phone calls and visits when they were needed the most.
